For Indigenous People’s Day I’d also like to throw out my own tribe’s water project - it’s becoming increasingly vital as protections surrounding Navajo land get stripped away & reservations are stripped of sovereignty, as the US government has poisoned our water before and will likely do so again without a second thought. Please consider donating to the Navajo Water Project, or giving this a reblog if you’d like. A’he’ee, thank you!

terfs be like. i am going to tell you how to spot a trans woman. okay so if you think a woman is ugly you should harass them. this is beneficial to women
The most ridiculous thing about this shit is that the idea that skeletal remains can be easily and unambiguously ‘sexed’ is absolutely bunkus
In 1972, Kenneth Weiss, now a professor emeritus of anthropology and genetics at Pennsylvania State University, noticed that there were about 12 percent more male skeletons than females reported at archaeological sites. This seemed odd, since the proportion of men to women should have been about half and half. The reason for the bias, Weiss concluded, was an “irresistible temptation in many cases to call doubtful specimens male.” For example, a particularly tall, narrow-hipped woman might be mistakenly cataloged as a man. After Weiss published about this male bias, research practices began to change. In 1993, 21 years later, the aptly named Karen Bone, then a master’s student at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, examined a more recent dataset and found that the bias had declined: The ratio of male to female skeletons had balanced out. In part that might be because of better, more accurate ways of sexing skeletons. But also, when I went back through the papers Bone cited, I noticed there were more individuals categorized as “indeterminate” after 1972 and basically none prior.
Allowing skeletons to remain unsexed, or “indeterminate,” reflects an acceptance of the variability and overlap between the sexes. It does not necessarily mean that the skeletons classified this way are, in fact, neither male nor female, but it does mean that there is no clear or easy way to tell the difference. As science and social change in the 1970s and 1980s revealed that sex is complicated, the category of “indeterminate sex” individuals in skeletal research became more common and improved scientific accuracy.Source: https://www.sapiens.org/biology/intersex-biological-sex/
Cis transphobes, you too could have your skeleton miscategorised hundreds of years after your death, because neither gender nor sex are the clear binaries you want them to be. Which you would know if your view of science in these fields wasn’t perpetually stuck in the first half of the 20th century.
(another good article from Sapiens on transgender perspectives on archaeology/anthropology - https://www.sapiens.org/archaeology/transgender-people-exist-in-history/ )
Anyway I just wanted to put this here to say that the assholes who go “when they find your bones” aren’t even correct, in recent decades that narrow approach has been challenged in the fields of archaeology and anthropology, and don’t let anyone invalidate the joy we feel in life.
Trans joy now and forever.
It’s easier to tell how much manual laundry someone did in life by their skeleton than what their sex was.
Hello! I was wondering if anyone would like a commission like this for 150-200 usd? Please reblog if you’d like
Hi all, it’s my sisters birthday in 4 days, (September 18), and I’ve been wanting to buy her cake and take her out on a fun day with a cousin we are both very close with. It will also be my first day off since July! I’m looking to draw something like above- a full scene, with two characters interacting, fully painted background, with a full border. ETA is mid October. I cannot draw anthro, furry, mecha or real people (beyond my capabilities.) something like this takes 12 hours to paint, with an additional 3 hours of familiarizing with refs and ocs, so am working for 10 usd an hour. Would absolutely love to treat my sister to a nice day, and would absolutely love to draw for anyone willing to take the spot. Thank you and I hope I can work for you! I’ll mark this post as (taken) if the one slot is taken!
Hi all, I was asked to include my tipping jar in these from previous asks, no need to rb this version, but the commission slot is still open, here is my tipping jar. I also take smaller commissions once a month. Thank you so much again
Hi guys.
I had freed up two slots of big paintings, and was wanting to take a small break, but I was wondering if anyone would like a big drawing like this for 150 usd. Full border, full bg, and two people-
I have to take my best friend / cousin to the airport today, and we don’t have a car.
Hes leaving the country for better work opportunities in a different country to help with his sister’s cancer treatment.
Money will go to car fare, commute, and food because we will be there for a couple of hours. Would mean everything in the whole world if anyone can reblog, or take the spot.
Soonest I can promise the drawing is by early November, but I hope to he able to send out progress shots by mid October due to me also facing crunch time at my other job.
Thank you so so much, I hope to work for you! Please dm me to claim the spot!
Hey friends, absolutely hate to keep rbing this, but from the business of the day, I lost about 65 usd ;-; I’m 2 hours away from home near the airport with no immediate money on hand.. n I don’t know what to do ajjdjs. It would mean anything if you guys can please rb, if anyone would like the spot at all, it would be a ton of help; thank you so much
i hate this weird sense of internalized queerphobia of like. being visibly and really loudly queer is somehow immature and childish and one day you’ll grow up and fall into cishet line and stop
#conforming is not synonymous with maturity
I love you so much for saying this
this sucks so i went looking for some gnc adults

lowering the social stigma of gender nonconformity also lowers the threshold of how bad people have to be suffering before they’re willing to discuss their feelings openly. I guarantee you that a TON of humans who felt vaguely alienated by/uncomfortable with their assigned gender have lived and died within a cisgender identity framework, because the enormous social cost of being honest just wasn’t worth it if they weren’t miserable. that was a bad thing!
letting people weigh their options for themselves without putting a thumb on the scale is freeing. so of course we’ve started hearing people discuss wildly unusual ways of experiencing gender. it does not matter whether the teenagers who made up the goofy-sounding new gender term you’re annoyed about end up being capital-T trans or not. it just matters that they feel safe talking about it, because everyone benefits from that. you cannot lower one threshold without lowering the other. this is a feature, not a bug. this is a good thing!

Spiderpunk’s color and texture changes are used to indicate his emotions. He often turns pink near Miles. The color pink is symbolic for honesty, compassion, and playfulness.
